HomeAway 5 of 5 stars for a stay in August 2019
The Kinda Kamping site (now known as Holiday Hub Glaming) was simply perfect, and Leigh and David were fantastic hosts. The sleeping tents were comfortable and there was plenty of space for all five of us to enjoy the experience. The kitchen is well equipped and we even made pizza on the open fire. If you are looking for a different holiday experience with plenty of outdoors time then this is the site for you. And the kids don’t need to worry as the WiFi worked better than at home as well – and we could unplug it when needed!! Our daughter is in a wheelchair and David made us some ramps to allow her to access all areas. The site is definitely suitable for everyone!! An amazing stay and we will certainly be back soon. RW
A French farmhouse in the North Dordogne
HomeAway 5 of 5 stars for a stay in August 2019
We had a wonderful family holiday in the farmhouse on Leigh and Dave’s extensive property in the heart of the French countryside. Fabulous swimming pool and hot tub. Lots of activities for all the family- bike trails,BMX track, table tennis, ball games etc. We were never lost for anything to do. Local markets, interesting towns, lakes with beaches, animal parks. We must not forget the great food in Dave’s restaurant
Fantastic family holiday

Really good accommodation with excellent amenities and fantastic family facilities. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant on site was a huge bonus. Well located for enjoying the local recreational lake facilities. We would highly recommend!

Leigh and Dave the owners live on site are very accommodating , they also run a small restaurant seasonally on site which is very useful. Would we stay again yes . It is a good 7 to 8 hour drive from Calais we added that to our holiday by booking hotel rooms on route and return to sample different areas of France which only made it a more cultured experience. If you want a relaxing time with family its great for adults and children alike feels like a family home . Leigh and Dave thank you for our stay with you we hope you have a great summer , Adrian , Rachel and the boys
Stay with two young families
HomeAway 5 of 5 stars for a stay in June 2019
We had a great trip to Leigh and Dave’s property in June. The Farmhouse was plenty big enough for 4 adults, two toddlers, one child and a dog! Leigh made sure stair gates were put up, she supplied two cots and two highchairs for the youngest members of the group. There were also lot of toys and games for the three little ones. Leigh was excellent in responding to any questions we had (and there were plenty!) and both Leigh and Dave provided us with lots of information when we were there. The restaurant is being refurbished but Leigh and Dave were still happy to organise pizzas etc. We just ate in the farmhouse as it was so hot when we were there. There were lots of great lakes and towns to visit within a 20-30 minute drive. The farmhouse is in a really remote location, but we found that was the same with most places we visited whilst across in France. The area was extremely beautiful. Overall we had a brilliant time and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. S & J
Perfect relaxing family holiday
HomeAway 5 of 5 stars for a stay in August 2018
The hosts Leigh and David were great, they made us feel at home and couldn’t do more to ensure our stay was relaxing and stress free. All the facilities were brilliant, from a lovely farm house with all mod cons, to a wonderful pool area and great outside space for the kids to run free. The restaurant on site was perfect and proofed a hit for all in our party. We’ll definitely be back to this hidden gem as it has been the most relaxing and stress free holiday we’ve ever had.
Perfect mix of luxury and nature
Trip Advisor 5 of 5 stars for a stay in Jul 2018
Fabulous family holiday (3 generations) in this luxurious farmhouse. Perfect for exploring the surrounding lakes, towns and villages. Wonderfully secluded location to return to and relax in the pool or hot tub. Having a restaurant onsite was a bonus. Only regret was not bringing our dog with us – he’d have loved exploring this gorgeous countryside too! CeriH
French Countryside in all its Glory
Trip Advisor 5 of 5 stars for a stay in Jun 2018
We stayed with Leigh and Dave in their stunning farmhouse the first week of June 2018 as a family (7 year old, 11 year old and 19 year old, 2 parents and 2 grandparents) It has been a few weeks, but my memories are still strong and my wish to visit again still remains! Firstly the hosts, I cannot say how grateful we are for all they did (beyond the call of duty) to make our stay a wonderful one full of amazing family memories. As hosts they are available whenever you need them, whilst ensuring they give you all the peace and privacy you need for the rest of the time. They have literally thought of everything you could need on a holiday like this, we even played a game of ‘try and think of something they haven’t’ one evening! The Accommodation is plentiful, and in a stunning location. The internal of the farmhouse contains spacious bedrooms, all with en suite shower rooms. Lots of storage space, fans provided as well as UK Extentions in each room (so you don’t need to bring a load of UK/EU plugs!) The kitchen is lovely, bit range and all the cutlery and crockery you would want, the Espresso machine was also very much in use for those wake up coffees! Bath towels are provided, there is a lovely Widescreen TV with DVD player and freeview in the house, and lots of reading material (Books, magazines in all sorts of languages) The outside is just as spectacular, a huge garden (or field I guess you could call it) which is beautifully kept and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside set the scene, but you then get a kids play area, a wonderful large pool with seating area (we were lucky, due to the time of year we got this all to ourselves) and then a slightly smaller pool attached to the farmhouse (which is great for swimming in, the kids loved it!). Around the front was the secluded Jaccuzzi, I had never really been in one before but was brilliant to unwind in the evenings. There are seating areas all around the outside of the house, and everything is kept spotless and in good condition. The pool was a lot of fun, in fact the only down side to this holiday is due to the fact we were exploring most days we didn’t really have enough time to sit around and enjoy the pool and field areas (although we did have quite a few mornings and afternoons lounging about!) Dave and Leigh will also happily cook for you, the Pizzas (as others have said) are simply gorgeous, and they even have a small bar on site (the IPA is wonderful) and they also have a ‘non pizza’ menu – all the food is cooked to order, just a small walk (literally 20 steps) from your front door. It was delicious. In terms of the area, the Farmhouse is a 45 min drive (down some pretty quiet roads) from Limoges airport, and once you know the route its a pleasant drive (hardly any cars on the road!). The Farmhouse is well off the beaten track and you will need a car, the nearest village of Miallet is a 5 minute drive away (not really walkable) and the main village of Chalus is about 15 mins in the car. This is where the nearest large supermarket (and petrol station) is located. The supermarket has pretty much anything you will need (and more) and is open from 8.45am until 7.30pm each day except Sunday where I think it closes at 13.30. Chalus itself is a nice village, although again in off season it seemed deserted until Friday/Saturday (the whole area really is that quite, its beautiful) We were very lucky with the weather, June is still ‘off season’ but was hot and dry, some of the days out we took we had to double check due to the fact the area starts its season in July so some of the opening times and dates were a bit odd. In terms of visits we can recomend the following, however please bare in mind we visited in June and July/August (High season) may not be so quiet. Brantome : 35 minute drive by car, nice car park outside the town itself on the way in. Lovely island town with great canoe hire and a lovely square to drink and watch people go by. Espace Hermaline : A lovely swimming Lake about 15 mins drive from the Farmhouse. It was really quiet when we went, but has a lovely cafe, a well kept lake that you can paddle and swim in (its quite shallow) then all sorts of play areas, tree parks (like Go Ape) and a zip wire that is 5 euro and takes you high up from a platform over the lake. Really nice, its only open certain hours (the Cafe and life guards) but the area itself is open all the time and is equally nice in the morning or afternoon for a stroll around. Grotte de Villars : Prehistoric Caves that you can go down and see. Reasonably priced, although I wasn’t that keen. The kids enjoyed it and the Prehistoric Park is nice with animal noises, cave painting and spear throwing. A nice cafe area and park as well. about 25 mins from the Farmhouse. We also went on longer trips to Castelnaud, Domme and Sarlat – definately worth the effort but a good 2 hours drive to get to the region. So overall I cannot say how much we enjoyed this week. I was looking forward to it but expected it not to be quite as good as the reviews – I was so wrong, all the reviews are spot on. If you want a stunning location, with amazing hosts in a well kept farmhouse in a rural part of france (peace, quiet, tranquility and nature) then you literally need to book now – you will not regret this for a minute. Everyone agreed it was a fantastic holiday which we all enjoyed, and personally cannot wait to visit again! Mark W
Family Holiday France
Trip Advisor 5 of 5 stars for a stay in May 2018
Really well equipped farmhouse both inside and out. Great for families as the children had lots of games and outdoor activities they could do. The property was clean and well maintained. The owners were great, really helpful and accommodating. The on-site restaurant was a real bonus especially after arriving late evening. The location is good with no passing traffic but well placed to visit French villages and attractions. Would highly recommend to all. Sarz
Holiday France Direct 10 out of 10 for a stay in September 2017
We were a family of 4 , 2 couples and our dog. The farmhouse was perfect with all the facilities you could ask for. The kitchen was very well equipped. My husband and son made good use of the fishing lake spending many a relaxing afternoon or early evening fishing. Leigh and her husband were the perfect hosts opening up the swimming pool for us and providing helpful advice on local restaurants. In particular Leigh was invaluable taking our son to the doctor and waiting with him that certainly went beyond the call of duty but shows what excellent hosts they are. I can certainly recommend the market at piegut-pluviers and a trip to Brantome with lunch by the river. We were there in early September and made good use of the hot tub and BBQ. We would love to return to the property as the house and setting was great. You need to remember that many restaurants in France only open for lunch in September but spending evenings at the farmhouse enjoying the evening sun on the terrace were idyllic. We thoroughly recommend the property. SH
Lovely relaxing place

WOW. This is a fabulous family friendly farmhouse. It is fully equipped for children with high chairs, stair gates, plastic plates etc and a selection of toys. There is so much land surrounding this beautiful accommodation, lovely for the children to have so much space and relaxing and peaceful for the adults. When we arrived it was very clean, and we could not ask more from Leigh and Dave, they are always on hand and go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. The pizza night is not to be missed, all 7 of us agreed it was the best pizza we had ever tasted. The pool and hot tub are both spotless and were enjoyed by all. We cannot fault this at all, don’t hesitate to book – we made a judgement from booking online and reading the reviews, they could not have been more accurate. Thank you for a fabulous holiday. Perfect location, so much to do and explore.
Trip Advisor 5 of 5 stars, for a stay in Jul 2017
We spent a lovely two weeks staying at Dave & Leigh’s beautifully renovated gite. With so much land to explore, including woodland, their own lake, bike tracks and the outdoor heated pool there was plenty to keep the whole family occupied. Dave and Leigh could not have been more helpful even providing all the necessary fishing equipment and advice to enable our eldest son to catch his first fish, much to his delight! Such a peaceful location but not too far from local amenities or places to visit. If you are interested in biking there is plenty of quiet roads and unspoilt woodland to explore. Pizza night is highly recommended, we all agreed it was the best pizza we had ever eaten. We would highly recommend this location and we look forward to visiting again. zziplexlee

What can I say, I found it difficult when looking online, to be certain of what it was we were booking, we had looked at many properties, and we are so pleased we chose this one it exceeded all of our expectations. Every facility was catered for. Leigh & David perfect hosts, pool & hot tub brilliant, House was stunning, as was the setting. We rolled up with just our clothes, and we didn’t need to take anything else, everything we needed even done to crocs was available for our use! Games, books, TV, music, you name it, we had it. Thank you so much Leigh & David, we will be back. L Estelle Cole

“Superb Winter Break”
Trip Advisor 5 of 5 stars, for a stay in Dec 2016
We have just returned from our first winter break in an area we know well, and visit regularly. We could not have chosen better accommodation for the crisp and chilly temperatures. Right from the outset Leigh and Dave were as warm, welcoming and accommodating as their fabulous farmhouse turned out to be. The farmhouse was kitted out perfectly for winter – a roaring woodburner, cosy duvets and throws, electric radiators in all rooms all made the farmhouse extremely comfortable for a winter stay. All of this, in addition to a beautiful renovation, in immaculate condition with high spec equipment throughout. From the fantastic range cooker, oak kitchen,, ensuite bathrooms and useful utility, every need is catered for which made our visit an absolute pleasure. Looking at the fabulous swimming pool and the lovely private surroundings its clear that the farmhouse would be equally amazing in the summer. If you are looking for French character accommodation at a luxury standard, in a fabulous area with plenty to do, you couldn’t choose better. joanne h
“Fantastic holiday spot”
Trip Advisor 5 of 5 stars August 2016
We were totally blown away with the farmhouse. It’s beautiful and so well maintained. Leigh, Dave and Ethan were great hosts and helped to make our holiday special. The pool and surrounding area were really clean. Also, excellent mountain biking area for families. We’d been to Tignes last year for mountain biking and although great it was a bit too extreme for our younger children – this area was perfect.
“Perfect hosts, amazing place and location for an extremely relaxing holiday”
Trip Advisor 5 of 5 stars August 2016
We have returned on lyn an hour ago and have to say what an amazing holiday we’ve had. I was blown away when we first saw the property…the pictures do not do it justice. The rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable the kitchen area large and well equipped. The whole place really has been very well converted and furnished. leigh and Dave were the perfect hosts and were always more than happy to help with anything we needed. The Gite is ideally located for site seeing and activities and Dave will show you some great on or off road cycle rides. Or just spend time around the perfect pool. Our son really enjoyed fishing in the lake too and caught 18 in 2 weeks!!The hot tub was very popular in the evening and there was table tennis and badminton on the lawn as well. We had a fabulous time with a mix of total relaxation and some activities. Oh and Leigh and Dave’s Pizza night..cooked in their own Pizza oven..was delicious. We will return. Fionna Newton Abbott, UK

“Rural paradise for adults and children”
Trip Adviser 5 of 5 stars July 2016
Just open for business and fantastically well equipped. The kitchen was pure pleasure to work in with a brand new professional grange and every possible item of equipment including a dish washer. The living area downstairs was a very good size and the sleeping arrangements for our three grandchildren their parents and us were more than adequate with plenty of showers mainly en suite.
The pool was a great hit with the children and there is also a hot tub and there was table tennis badminton boules and a vast garden. If you fish there is a lake and the surrounding countryside is beautiful with prolific bird life moths and butterflies wild flower meadows but no mosquitoes. Watch out though for horse flies.
There is much to do and visit in the surrounding area and we took a train to Limoges for the day to see the city which was well worth it.
The host family are delightful friendly but not intrusive. They have a pizza oven and cooked us pizzas one evening when we had visitors and our numbers reached fifteen people.
You really could not do better if you have the numbers in your party to justify the cost of this first class unit. Michael M, Hermanus, West Cape, South Africa.
“A haven for families and all”
Trip Adviser 5 of 5 stars June 2016
At the end of a farm track, just 30 km from Limoges airport and in the luscious and beautiful countryside of the Dordogne, awaits a relaxed and welcoming haven. For everyone there is an expertly and tastefully converted spacious farm house with a pizza oven across the courtyard, a cacophony of bird song amongst the tranquility, ever available and friendly hosts and all the vintage and mod cons including a fantastic heated swimming pool and jacuzzi and DVDs, tv and wifi if needed. Esp. for families there’s a well thought out and very safe layout, chickens, ducks, frogs, toads, a fishing lake, a well manicured and massive field right at the back of the house, woods, table tennis, bikes, toys and, best of all, nearby lakes with life-guarded sandy beaches, shallow shelving shores and a range of water sports. Supermarkets, boulangeries and otheries and cash machines are also a short drive away. Thank you Dave, Leigh and Ethan for a wonderful holiday. We are booking for next year. Stepmarks, Glasgow, UK
“Something for everyone”
Trip Adviser 5 of 5 stars April 2015
We had a lovely time in this beautifully restored farmhouse which has the benefit of all mod cons whilst still retaining the character of the 200 year old farmhouse that it is. Very clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Located in a tiny hamlet with wonderful views over surrounding countryside which makes for a relaxing time if that’s what you want but there are plenty of activities on offer too by the owners Leigh and Dave….’if the kids are happy’….and there’s a lovely large pool which although heated we weren’t brave enough to dive into in April!! Not too far away are the pretty viligaes of Brantome and Bourdeilles and some lovely lakes with beaches for bathing which are all well worth visiting. Friday is market day in Brantome. All in all a perfect holiday – thank you Leigh and Dave. David T, Sevenoaks, UK
